Pet Friendly FAQ's

Will My Pet Be Safe When Travelling?

Just like driving a car it is recommended to secure your pet whilst travelling. Make sure to bring a seat belt, harness or cage to securely fasten your pet in whilst travelling. We do not stock any items to secure pets in a motorhome so you must bring your own.

Not all motorhomes have Isofix so ensure you bring something compatible to fasten into a normal seatbelt buckle.

Does it cost extra for pets?

Yes. It costs an extra £20 for the entire hire period. So whether you’re hiring for 3 nights or 14 nights it will cost £20 for up to 2 pets.

The reason for the extra charge is to cover the extra time to clean the motorhome when it arrives back onsite. As a pet owner you probably know more than anyone that hairs can get anywhere. Not all hirers own pets and expect a clean motorhome when hiring from us, so we need to take extra care when cleaning the motorhome for the next customer if a pet has been in the motorhome previously.

Can a motorhome be too hot for a pet?

Just like a car a locked motorhome with no air circulation can get up to temperatures of 38 degrees.

None of our motorhomes have air conditioning in the habitation area however, there are some efficient things you can do to keep the motorhome cool including;

  • Thermal blinds – There are thermal blinds that can be put on the windscreen to reduce the heat in the motorhome.
  • Skylights and windows – There are skylights and plenty of windows that you can open to make sure the air circulation flows through. When they are open it can rapidly become a safe haven in warm summers, but do not leave your motorhome windows open unattended.
  • Cold water – It’s a motorhome, you have access to cold water! Make sure your pet is fully hydrated. We don’t stock water bowls so make sure to bring one with you.
  •  CAB Aircon – When the engine on you do have access to CAB air conditioning which can flow into the habitation area.

Do you have equipment for pets such as dog bowls?

No we don’t have any equipment to cater for pets. You must bring your own items such as travel equipment, water bowls and food bowls for your pet.

We ask that you please respect others who will be hiring the motorhome after you and that the equipment we provide such as cereal bowls and plates are not used by your pet.

Will my pet be comfortable?

As you may agree most pets such as dogs relax and sleep better on a soft surface with a scent they are used to. So we recommend taking either a bed or cushions that will make your pet feel at ease.

Do campsites accept pets?

Yes campsites do accept pets but do your research before booking as there are some campsites that are strict and don’t accept dogs. For those sites that do, most of these would charge an extra fee for pets as well.
